We believe in God, the Creator of everything that is, was, and ever shall be. God is the source of every blessing, love being chief among those blessings. We believe that God is actively involved in the lives of humankind and seeks to invite us into God’s holy work of peace, justice, and salvation.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the essence of God freely poured out upon us all on the Day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is the source of God’s power made available to us by faith to live in the way of God, helping to build the kingdom. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are shaped and reshaped into God’s servants, vessels of God’s love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten of God and Savior of the world. We believe that God so loves humankind that God sent Jesus, God made flesh, to live among us, showing us the way to live in and for our Creator. We believe that Jesus willingly died on the cross to free us from our sins and our fear of death, bridging the chasm created by the imperfection humankind perpetuates in the world. We believe that by Christ death and resurrection we have been forgiven of our sins, blessed with everlasting life, and made worthy to participate in God’s holy work.
We believe that the Holy Scripture is the Living Word of God, teaching about our spiritual past and our spiritual present. The Bible is more than words on the page. It is the record of God’s involvement in the lives of God’s people from the beginning of everything, to this present age and beyond.
We believe that Salvation, our salvation, is a freely given gift from God, through faith in Jesus Christ. It is God’s solution to the problem created by human sin, human imperfection. It is available to all. It cannot be earned. It can only be claimed by faith. However, once claimed, our salvation sets us free to do the work of God for the sake of Christ and his Kingdom.
